On August 8, 2025, Salmon Unlimited – Illinois held our first annual “Take a Veteran Salmon Fishing” event.  This event provides our Club Membership with an opportunity to say THANK YOU to our military veterans for the service and sacrifice they made to keep us free.

The inaugural event featured numerous event sponsors as well as eight member captains and crew who took  twenty-seven veterans, from Wounded Warrior Project and Freedom Lodge Outdoors, for a full morning of salmon fishing.  The day culminated with a sit-down lunch at The Tropics Restaurant in North Point Marina and prizes for all of the vets who participated.

We look forward to continuing this event each year and we invite our member boat captains and crew to join us.
